Dear Journal, What a perfect day it turned out to be! Aimee and I caught up at the Botanic Gardens, where the sun was generous and the breeze just right. It felt like the gardens were showing off for us—flowers in full bloom, ducks gliding over the pond like they had all the time in the world. We meandered along the paths, talked about everything under the sun, and yes, we fed some ducks along the way. Something about tossing breadcrumbs together made it feel like no time had passed at all. We laughed over the escapades of our youth, remembering how we used to dare each other to do the silliest things. It's funny how some friendships feel just like muscle memory—no matter the time apart, they just fit. As we talked, we touched on the people who’ve come and gone in our lives. Aimee mentioned her friend Betty in passing, with a little twinkle in her eye that made me curious. She left it at that, a bit of mystery hanging in the air. Today reminded me why these simple moments matter so much. They’re the pause button in our fast-forward lives, a chance to breathe and laugh and just be. Aimee and I promised each other not to let so much time slip by again. Friendships like these are too good to put on the back burner. So here’s to more sunny days, laughter-filled walks, and the kind of friends who make you feel young again. Can’t wait to see what’s next, especially with this intriguing Betty character in the mix. Catch you later, Alex
