Dear Journal, Ryan is amazing. There’s no denying it. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of laughter, connection, and moments that feel like they belong in a rom-com. But tonight, as I sit here reflecting, I can’t help but feel this gentle tug—a reminder of a promise I made to myself. Before I met Ryan, I was learning how to love my own company, to explore the world on my terms, and to understand what truly makes me happy. I’m still on that journey. It’s not that I don’t believe in love—far from it—but I know now that love shouldn’t mean losing pieces of yourself. Ryan makes me smile in ways I didn’t think possible. He’s thoughtful, kind, and more than a little charming. But I also know that I want to keep chasing sunsets, diving into adventures, and figuring out who I am when no one else is around. I want to be my own person before I’m someone’s partner. Maybe it’s selfish, or maybe it’s the most selfless thing I can do—for both of us. Because love, real love, should add to your life, not take away from it. And if he’s the right one, I think he’ll understand that. For now, I’m just going to let the feelings settle and keep moving forward. After all, this journey is mine, and I owe it to myself to see it through. Catch you later, Alex
