Dear Journal, Tonight felt like the universe had conspired to create something straight out of a fairy tale. Ryan planned an evening so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but he managed to surprise me in the best way. The horse-drawn carriage ride through the park was just the beginning. Wrapped in a cozy blanket with a thermos of hot cocoa in hand, I couldn’t stop smiling as the golden glow of the streetlamps flickered on around us. “Do you remember where you were this spring?” Ryan asked, his tone teasing. It didn’t take me long to figure out he was alluding to our first meeting at the park. “You mean the day I skated right into you? I’m trying to forget,” I replied, laughing. Our ride brought us to the botanic gardens, which had been transformed into a glowing wonderland for their evening event. Walking under an archway of lights, we wandered through fragrant flowerbeds and shimmering fountains. Ryan held my hand as we explored, pointing out his favorite spots and finding little moments of magic at every turn. The night ended at the planetarium, where we sat beneath the dome and watched a starry sky unfold above us. It was breathtaking. The narrator’s voice drifted over us, telling stories of ancient constellations, but I was only half-listening. I couldn’t help but glance at Ryan during the quieter moments, wondering how this evening could feel so easy, so perfectly right for a first date. By the time we left, I wasn’t ready for the night to end, but I also couldn’t stop smiling. There’s something magical about being with someone who makes the ordinary feel extraordinary. The night was so perfect, it felt like it had been written in the stars. Alex
