Dear Journal, Today was one of those special days when the house felt full of life and memories. Mama decided it was time to freshen up the photo wall, which, of course, meant pulling out old albums and keepsakes while reminiscing over every little detail. The photo wall in our living room is like a living timeline of our family’s journey. Each frame holds a moment: Mama’s travels when she was my age, snapshots of my dads being silly together, and milestones and drawings from my childhood. I found a picture of Mama from her twenties, and the resemblance is uncanny—same big smile, same mischievous twinkle in her eyes, the same one I see in mine. While flipping through the albums, my dads joined in. They pulled out some of their cherished keepsakes—like an engraved pocket watch that’s been passed down through Papa’s family and Dad’s old camera, which he used to take nearly every photo of us when I was little. Seeing them hold these items with such care made me realize how much history and love is woven into the things we keep. Mama reminded me that the stories behind these keepsakes are what matter most. “These are the threads that connect us,” she said, as she handed me a picture of myself as a baby, fast asleep on her chest. Her smile was soft and full of love, and for a moment, the room felt smaller, cozier, like we were wrapped in all the memories we’d just uncovered. By the end of the afternoon, the photo wall had some new additions, and the house felt even more like home. It’s amazing how just a few photos and mementos can fill a space with so much love. Catch you later,Alex
