Dear Journal, Game night is a tradition in our family, and tonight, it felt like the house was alive with laughter and friendly competition. There’s something so special about gathering around the table, snacks at the ready, and diving into old favorites that somehow never get old. The kitchen was a hive of activity before game night even began. Mama was rolling cookie dough with her signature precision, while one dad handled the nachos and the other was perfecting the popcorn (and sneaking a few pieces when he thought noone was looking). I floated between everyone helping were I could but also mostly snagging samples. By the time we finished, the table was a masterpiece of sweet and salty snacks, each of us contributing in our own way. We started with Scrabble, and I went all in, determined to dominate the board. Triple-word scores? Nailed them. But the real fun came from the banter, the joking accusations of cheating (all in good humor, of course), and the fact that my dads somehow managed to turn even spelling into a comedy show. Later, Mama brought out an old jigsaw puzzle we used to work on when I was little. It was one of those puzzles where the pieces were a little worn from years of use, and of course, a couple were missing—no one knew where they’d gone, but we all had a good laugh about it. Still, as we pieced it together, it felt like we were revisiting old memories, like we were rebuilding not just the picture, but pieces of our family history. By the end of the night, my cheeks and sides hurt from laughing, and my heart and tummy felt so full I could barely move. It’s nights like these that make me realize how lucky I am to have a family like mine. Catch you later,Alex
