Entry #1 Dear Journal, Well, here I am, sitting in the middle of my new loft, surrounded by boxes. Moving in has been quite the workout, both physically and emotionally. And at many points, it’s been very overwhelming with so many emotions and thoughts swirling around in my mind. It's like standing on the edge of a cliff, knowing you have to jump but not knowing what's waiting for you below. I’m so thankful that I’ve had Viv, Clyde, Willow, and Ken (and my playlist) to help me move in. Every item I pull out of a box is a trip down memory lane. I found a faded photograph from a summer trip years ago, and it dawned on me – I'm not just unpacking things; I'm looking through parts of who I used to be. With all the memories flooding back, I have no idea how I got anything done at all. I must have spent hours in my own world. I’m realising that I've always been the one who takes care of others — the reliable one, the rock. But in being that person, I realize I've lost pieces of myself along the way. Now, in the quiet of this room, with the past in boxes, I wonder who I am when I'm not playing the roles I've become so accustomed to. I found this journal Aimee gave me, its pages were still untouched (well not anymore!). It felt like a sign, an invitation to start filling those pages with my next chapter. So here I am, pen in hand, ready to rediscover myself and the world around me. I'm feeling a mix of excitement and a little bit of fear. This isn't just about moving to a new apartment; it's about starting again. I’ve never been great at decorating but I'm excited to have my own space and to really make it my own. And get this, Viv smuggled in the cutest little succulent on my window sil. I've decided it’s my little green buddy to join me on this journey, I’ll have to name it, and then try and keep it alive. So here's to new beginnings, to the excitement of the unknown, and to the friends who support us along the way. I might not know exactly what's ahead, but I’m excited to find out what comes next.
